Emulation Lead

Syndeo has a direct hire opening for an Emulation Lead for a local client specializing in material handling, conveyor systems, and automation solutions.

As an Emulation Lead, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining emulation models that accurately represent real-world conveyor systems and automated processes. This role works closely with project teams, customers, and engineering leadership to ensure emulation systems are delivered accurately, efficiently, and consistently while supporting project success from concept through implementation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, maintain, and update custom conveyor modules that accurately mimic real-world physics, controls, and system behavior.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation, standards, and processes to drive consistency across projects.
  • Read and interpret project scopes of work and collaborate with project teams to clarify requirements when needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of material handling equipment and conveyor technologies including Belted, CDLR, MDR, Skid, OHP&F, Shoe Sorters, ARB, and other industry-relevant systems.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with project managers, project engineers, and engineering teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations effectively.
  • Engage with customers as needed throughout project lifecycles to gather requirements and provide technical support.
  • Assist with project scheduling, task assignments, and resource planning to help maintain project timelines.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and ensure emulation deliverables meet customer and company expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing enhancements to engineering processes and standards.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for data collection, system review, and customer interaction.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures and engineering best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience with material handling, conveyor systems, automation, simulation, or related engineering environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, project specifications, and system requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and OPC communications.
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD) and 3D modeling software.
  • Leadership and project coordination abilities.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
