Transportation Dispatch Lead

Syndeo Staffing has a direct-hire opportunity for the right person to join a family-owned ag-fertilizer company as a Transportation Dispatch Lead in El Dorado, Kansas. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is essential in leading the day-to-day functions and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of goods.

The Transportation Dispatch Lead is responsible for ensuring the most efficient, cost-effective methods are utilized. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with various stakeholders, including drivers, logistics personnel, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily transportation operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and communication to ensure seamless service and meet customer demand.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and logistics personnel, providing clear direction to resolve challenges and maintain delivery schedules.
  • Respond to requests for transportation services from customers, employees, or other sources
  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including route planning, vehicle maintenance, and driver assignments
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in accordance with DOT and FMCSA
  • Monitor and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Mentor and guide transportation team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors by providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in transportation dispatching or logistics management dealing with Federal and State Department of Transportation laws and regulations required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation software such as Fleet Management Systems or GPS routing tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. This position may be subject to overtime based on delivery schedules.

Pay:

$18+/hour BOE
