Shipping and Receiving Operator
Syndeo Staffing has a direct hire opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Operator in Manhattan, KS. This role combines the essential duties of shipping and receiving with the added responsibility of operating warehouse equipment and utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS). You'll ensure the accuracy and efficiency of inventory control while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:30 pm
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the timely shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies into the facility of which assigned.
- Collaborates and communicates with Operations Team, QA, Warehouse Supervision, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments via appropriate documentation, WMS/ERP, etc. to ensure accurate traceability of goods or materials.
- Ensure supplier receivables are on Approved Supplier List.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Maintains accurate inventory records within WMS.
- Provides additional backup support for other departments.
- Track ingredients by lot numbers and expiration dates to ensure usage and traceability is maintained and applied correctly applied across all LOT codes/dates.
- Verify raw ingredient material quantities against client PO or production output requirements.
- Complies with sanitation requirements in material staging areas, ship/rec areas, and/or other areas as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with vendors, carriers and other departments.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and understand reports, BOLs, schedules.
- Strong attention to details and an organized person required for this position.
- Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Working knowledge of WMS (a Plus)
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Must always wear protective equipment when on production floor.
- Experience operating forklift & hand trucks.
- Ability to lift and move moderately heavy objects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or shipping and receiving experience.
- Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting and carrying 10 pounds constantly, 11-50 pounds regularly, and above 50 pounds occasionally
- Reach above, at, and below shoulder height constantly.
- Pushing and pulling constantly
- Twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing may also be required frequently.
