Production Mig Welder 

Syndeo Staffing has a temp-to-hire opening for a busy manufacturing company of street sweepers sold around the world for many applications needed by a variety of customers.  Under the direction of the Fabrication Foreman, the responsibilities of the Welder / Fabricator position includes fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other wieldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications, blueprint, and production schedules. Hours of Work:  Core hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday – Friday with unpaid 30 minute lunch. 

Job Duties, Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Perform welding duties using a wire welder.
  • Mig welding of steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
  • Work with fitters or fitters/welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment if any equipment needs repairs notify supervisor/lead.
  •  Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.
  •  Be open minded in providing new solutions and instruction in bettering our product.
  •  Understanding the use of bolts and nuts (metric and SAE).

Qualifications

  • Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment.
  • Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal; not to exceed one written warning.
  • Candidate should have a basic welding aptitude, 2 year technical degree or related work experience preferred.
  • Tape measurement and Blueprint reading skills a must.

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to provide your own basic hand tools.

Pay - $22-$24 BOE
