Director of Operations

Syndeo Staffing has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Director of Operations for a processing company in Manhattan, KS, that specializes in filling, retorting, and packaging coffee beverages for outside customers. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the organization’s operations to the next level. This includes overseeing production planning and management, inventory control, quality assurance, health and safety compliance, maintenance, customer interactions, and enforcing company policies. They must excel at maximizing operational efficiency and productivity through in-depth process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. Additionally, this individual will set strategic goals to enhance efficiency and boost productivity while effectively planning and executing a wide range of operational activities to ensure the business runs optimally.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.
  • Manage departmental managers, external partners and customers to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
  • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs
  • Ability to think strategically & execute tactically to deliver sustainable results
  • Strive to achieve world-class operating systems
  • Lead the operations team with integrity and establish a trusting, inclusive and productive environment
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software including ERP and continuous improvement tools.
  • Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Manage relationships/agreements with customers and vendors
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resource allocation
  • Develop, implement and deliver budgeted expectations
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles, 5S, and other efficient methodologies.
  • Revise and/or formulate company policies and promote their implementation.
  • Ensure the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
  • Ability to analyze and identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Develop long-term plans that will ensure sustainable business results, new levels of productivity and success for the company.

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management.
  • 10+ years in Plant leadership roles including 5+ years as a Plant Manager
  • Must be results-oriented and can work with a high degree of independence
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Hatred of status quo results
  • Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets and scheduling expenditures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Expert attention to detail, organization, and multitasking
  • Leads facility safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, with the flexibility to occasionally work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
